Give It To The Universe
Actions speak louder than words. And when there is no room left for conversation, I can still choose what I put into the world.
So I give it to the universe.
An important part of recovery is learning to look honestly at ourselves—to take responsibility for our actions, become accountable for the harm we may have caused, and make amends where amends are ours to make.
Not for forgiveness.
Not for a response.
Not to reopen doors that have been closed.
But because growth asks us to acknowledge where we have been and decide who we want to be from here.
The past cannot be undone, and it is no place to remain.
But what an extraordinary resource it can become.
There are lessons there. Wisdom. Gratitude. Regret. Beautiful memories alongside painful ones. People we loved, people we hurt, people who hurt us, and versions of ourselves we understand differently now.
Making amends does not require me to rewrite any of it.
It simply asks me to tell the truth about my part, honour what deserves to be honoured, and release what no longer needs to be carried.
Some things may never be received by the person they were meant for.
That doesn’t make them meaningless.
I can still put them somewhere good.
I can give them to the universe.
